Trust in the Lord

'Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore.' (Psalm 125:1, 2 NIV)

I am so thankful that I can place my full and complete trust in the Lord God Almighty and don't have to trust in my own feelings, emotions, circumstances, understanding or intellect. Although things look very grim around us morally, economically, and socially, we can continue to trust the One who holds all things together. 'He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.' (Colossians 1:17 NIV) No matter how grim things get, He is still seated on His throne and also is surrounding us with His love, grace and protection. As we choose to trust Him and His timeless Word, and not ourselves or those around us, we will not be shaken!

Maybe we need to begin this journey of faith by confessing our unbelief, just like the father whose son was possessed by a spirit from childhood. 'Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” '(Mark 9:24 NIV). As we look to the Lord and confess our need, we will enable our faith to grow and enable us to not be shaken. He is faithful!
'Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.” '(Hebrews 12:28, 29 NIV)
